What A refreshing start to the season with the Grimsby & Cleethorpes Ladies Choir
“Spring Concert”. The choir, with Rita Grove as Conductor and Sheila Shelston Accompanist, opened the evening with a Cole Porter number “Another Opening Another Show”, this started the mood for the night with music from “Les Miserables” and music from other shows to delight the audience.
The guests of the choir were The City Of Stoke on Trent Male Voice Choir with conductor Bob Slinn and Accompanist Pat Mair. They opened with a rousing Welsh Hymn “Llanfair”, Chas Powner was the soloist with “Master of the House” with the men supporting him, what a performance.
The second half was just as entertaining with music from “Mamma Mia” from the ladies and the men singing songs from the Beatles, the audience were encouraged to join in with “Ob La Di Ob La Da”.
The ladies ended their performance with “Goin` Home”, and the men finished with the Elvis Presley number “An American Trilogy”.
The choirs joined together for the final item “Jerusalem” and the audience was encouraged to take part.
What a great night was had by all and it delighted the audience.
